Who Should It Be?

With the Liberals and NDP in the midst of choosing new leaders (some more quickly than others) I am curious to see who you feel would be the most effective leader of each respective party. Who do you think will revitalize the party’s supporters, be the best face of the party in the media and be an effective parliamentarian? Is there someone out there for each party that can do all of those things? OR should the two parties merge, combining their support and preventing another fracture of the left of centre vote? Have your say below!

If you answered anything other than one of the options listed, comment below who you think should lead the NDP or Liberals, or which quality you see as most important.

  1. both liberals and ndp need to pick a smart leader with charisma. someone who can get people excited about politics again without pissing off half the nation. one thing which harper does well is he uses his blandness to avoid offending anybody. someone who can make a splash or catch people’s attention without saying/doing anything stupid (i.e. dion’s backpack, toyota and a dog named kyoto…) is what the parties should look for

  2. The trick for the LPC is to find someone that stretches beyond Ontario and Quebec. With new seats coming to the west and most of the money, the only way they will ever win again is if they sweep Ontario and Quebec or they start appealing to the west.

  3. good point andrew. i definitely agree with you.
