Vote!

As you’re all aware, today is election day. I ask you all to please go out and exercise your democratic right. Regardless of your sentiments towards the leaders, our political system and this election, staying home will teach them nothing. By abstaining, you are only taking away your own voice, and weakening the fabric of our democracy. I would rather see an outcome I am not favourable to, win with a 90% turnout, than my desired choice win on only 45% of the vote. Regardless of which party wins today, it will only be a true victory if every eligible Canadian goes out and votes. There are few, if any, acceptable excuses not to vote. Don’t be lazy!

  1. At least we beat our all-time low, but it still was a discouraging 61%. Maybe after 4 years our voter fatigue will be gone and enough people will be annoyed enough with both Harper and Layton that we will have a higher turnout..
